Author Biography
Laia Albàs Ferrer is a student-athlete currently studying at the University of Bridgeport. Originally from Santpedor, in central Catalonia, Spain, she has pursued her passion for basketball at the collegiate level while working toward a degree in business. Her experiences in Catalonia and the United States have shaped her perspective on sports, discipline and personal growth.
Her journey between both environments, on and off the court, inspired her to write Across Two Courts. The book reflects on the challenges, growth and cultural transitions that have shaped her path, drawing from personal experiences, as well as interviews conducted over the years. Through her writing, Laia explores themes of identity, resilience and the intersection of sports and personal development.
Across Two Courts is her first book, born from her experiences as a student-athlete navigating two distinct worlds of sports and academics.
